Second #CookBook from restaurant De #Veldkeuken in #Amelisweerd, #Utrecht.

Full of #recipes from their restaurant, made from #local ingredients. #Bread, cakes, quiches etc from their own #bakery that includes their own grain mill.

I received this during our #Sinterklaas festivity. I had no specific wishes, so fun surprise to receive this, after having made loads of the recipes from their first book.

However important moving towards a #plantbased diet is, this book contributes little to nothing. The main meals look incredibly mediocre, hardly worth the title 'main'. In general, middle of the road ideas, poor choices in ingredients and combinations. 'Fast pasta pesto' with three small supermarket-bought jars of pesto. Tosti made with the tasteless plastic crap called #vegan cheese, etc. The soups look halfway decent, but nothing that you can't find in any other #vegetarian #cookbook. The book layout screams "Instagram" or any food blog. Including English words for which we have perfectly suitable Dutch words. And why use 'cups' instead of ml or gram?

Borrowed from the public library. I'm not sure whether I'm glad that I didn't spend money on this or sad that the library did spend money on it.
