Angel's Nightmare Adventure is a quick, exciting read comprising two linked short stories in which a young man and a rookie police officer must survive a zombie outbreak in a New York hospital. I understand that the stories are inspired by video games such as Resident Evil, none of which I have actually played, but I could imagine the game scenarios while reading these stories because the scenes pass by swiftly and very violently! I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this book because it's all about the action whereas I'm usually more into deep characterisation, world building and atmosphere. It was an entertaining read so I was glad to have taken a chance on this author. Unfortunately there are a lot of distracting typos and errors - at one point Angel defeats a zombie with his marital arts skills(!) - and the dialogue is very 'B movie'. That …
