Unexpectedly for me, because Young Adult science fiction isn't one of my preferred genres, I absolutely loved reading Threadwalkers! I devoured the whole book pretty much in one sitting, eagerly turning the pages to find out what would happen next. Miranda is a great, realistic protagonist. Feisty and brave, but not unbelievably invincible and I found myself able to empathise with her grief over her parent's death and her confusion at the new world which begins to open up to her. Our teenage years are difficult enough without suddenly realising that even basic laws of reality might not be quite what we always thought they were!

Volavka keeps up an exciting pace throughout Threadwalkers. I loved spotting connections through the time loops and trying to decide who Miranda could trust and who was out to thwart her. Atmospheric scenes and settings are well described so easy to imagine, but without …
