Granger Bowden was born and raised in Petaluma, California. The son of a cattle rancher, Granger knew the ranching business very well. By default, he inherited the lucrative business, despite his distaste for it. His daughter, Allie, changed all that when she declared at the tender of eight, that she was becoming a vegan. It was the push that Granger needed. Together, he and Allie turned Bowden Ranch into an animal sanctuary. Twelve years later, the haven for animals was thriving. The only thing missing from Granger's world was a vegan cowgirl.
I bought a copy of Vegan Cowboy from Smashwords purely for its vegan authorship, not having previously read anything by Carol Treacy. I liked her writing here although the whole novel was a bit too slowly paced for my tastes though. It's a nicely romantic tale though - with snippets of animal agriculture information woven into the narrative.
