Valen And The Beasts is a companion novella in G J Kemp's Acre series. Its events actually take place just before the story in Juno And The Lady, but I would recommend reading that novel before this novella in order to understand who all the characters are and the significance of their interactions. Valen And The Beasts was a quick, entertaining read, but personally I would have preferred less fighting and more explanations of the hows and whys of the Fairacre world.
