A mystery about the masks we wear. The lies we tell. The secrets we keep. And the dangers that lurk around every corner. The second book in the Quentin Strange Mysteries, Capturing Magick takes the characters of the quirky British haunted house mystery into edgier and more thrilling territory in this supernatural mystery thriller full of twists.
I enjoyed returning to Quentin Strange's world for this second of the eponymous mysteries. The story starts with the standard premise of a young woman having gone missing, however it soon takes a particularly Strange direction with Quentin himself struggling against both his ghost-seeing abilities and his unexpected attraction to the mysterious Drew.
Capturing Magick was a charming read. I liked Dean Cole's character creations and the bizarre atmosphere in Cricklewood.
