May 14, 2026 I can't believe I forgot to write a review of this when I finished it five months ago. Sorry but I'm going to phone it in.
You all know what this book is about, I'm not going to write a summary of it.
Listen, sue me. I grade M/M romance written by women on a curve. Is this authentic? No. But is it good representation? Also no. But did it do harm? Not at all! So props for adding to the canon of beloved queer media and normalizing fun, gay romances on page and on screen. If this were written by a gay man, I'd be more critical of it, but it wasn't so I have to give credit for writing outside the author's wheelhouse.
As for the technicals, I found the pacing of this to be weird. Repetitive in a lot of ways, but not tiresome. …

As for the technicals, I found the pacing of this to be weird. Repetitive in a lot of ways, but not tiresome. I enjoyed seeing the couple through the years, but I wish each had grown a bit more in their own ways. It seemed much of the character development only happened once they finally went to the cabin, but there was a lot of opportunity for it that I feel was missed.
This was sweet, it made me smile. I'm glad it exists. But everyone should go read M/M romance written by gay men and see what all you're missing out on.
